Anatomy Academy

Anatomy Academy is an outreach and research program to combat childhood obesity through educational intervention.

We are excited to engage our Camp Unity participants in this creative wave of increasing their knowledge and interest in science with hands-on activities.

 

Rahiti

Rahiti a Polynesian Dance group based in the San Francisco area has been an integral part of our Polynesian Performing Arts program.  The wonderful Aranda family's talents perpetuate the beautiful dances of the beautiful Islands of Polynesia.

Academy of Arts University

Camp Unity is so excited to have mentors offer summer workshops to our participants, engaging them in media and technology.

Established in 1929, Academy of Art University is the largest accredited private art and design school in the US with over 18,000 students throughout San Francisco as well as nationally and internationally through the online degree program.

 

 

University of California Coop Extension Nutrition/Health

UCCE became a partner in 2013 and our youth were fully engaged in Healthy activities which raised awareness of proper nutrition as our Pacific Islander communities have a high percentage of obesity, chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure.  UC Cooperative Extension Family Nutrition Education provides research-based food and nutrition information and educational programs for San Mateo and San Francisco Counties. Our goal is to help youth and families make healthy food choices, maximize limited food budgets, and handle food safely.

Excelsior Yoga

Camp Unity understands the benefits of Yoga and Meditation and this summer we are fortunate to bring on a new partner who will introduce the practice of Hatha Yoga.

Excelsior Yoga's mission is to people become more healthy, manage their stress and actualize their true potential.  Yoga is taught blended with science and spirituality free from any religious beliefs.

 

City College of SF Interdisciplinary Critical Pacific Islander Studies

Since Camp Unity's inception, CCSF Pacific Islander Club and Program under the leadership of Dr. David "Vika" Palaita has been an important component of Camp Unity's success.

The CCSF Pacific Islander students continue to serve as core volunteers and are at the heart of the work.

Ukes for S.F. Bay Area Kids

 

Ukes for Kids of SF Bay Area mission is to perpetuate the ‘Ukulele and the music, culture and community bonds that come from it by seeding the next generation of ‘Ukulele enthusiasts. 

What a great addition to our Camp Unity program.  This new collaboration will give birth to new artist as well as enhance the already budding artists who have learned to love this wonderful instrument.

Heal Farm Project

The Heal Project teaches students to make healthy choices for themselves and their world.  Their vision is for every child to grow up active, informed, engaged and healthy.

Camp Unity is so excited to be able to be reconnected to the land as it is an important part of our Pacific-Polynesian culture.  

 

Le Fetuao Samoan Language Center

Le Fetuao Samoan Language Center "Ia Malama Ou Ala" mission is helping youth & adults in Hawai'i to learn & embrace the Samoan language & culture. www.lefetuao.com #LeFetuao #AogaSamoa.

We are so excited to be able to utilize the Samoan Language curriculum provided to us by this wonderful program that assists in our humble efforts to ensure that our participants are engaged in language, retention and appreciation of the vibrant Samoan culture.
